The Lincoln Trojans had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They came out on top against Mountain View by a score of 73-61. The win was all the more spectacular given Lincoln's disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 118th in California, while Mountain View is ranked 22nd in Idaho).
Leading Lincoln to victory were Quentin Thompson and Isaiah Davis. Thompson scored 15 points along with three steals, while Davis scored 26 points along with six rebounds. The matchup was Thompson's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Donez Lindsey, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Lincoln has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Mountain View, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.
Lincoln and Turlock will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Mountain View, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Nampa at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Nampa is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
