The Idaho City Wildcats will challenge the Glenns Ferry Pilots at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Idaho City is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 13 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against North Star on Wednesday. They lost 12-1 to the Huskies. The Wildcats have struggled against the Huskies recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.
Idaho City got a good showing from Brady DeWeese, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave DeWeese a new career-low in walks (zero).

On the hitting side, Trey Martiny was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.
Meanwhile, Glenns Ferry was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against Melba, falling 13-6.
Glenns Ferry saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryce Sterling, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with seven stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another was Alan Mesillas, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.
Glenns Ferry's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10-1. As for Idaho City, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Idaho City has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Glenns Ferry struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Idaho City might still be hurting after the 8-1 defeat they got from Glenns Ferry in their previous meeting last Wednesday. Will the Wildcats have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
