Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Covenant Day). The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Lions considering their two-run performance the  match before.
 Mikey Scaletta was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  struck out six batters over  2.1 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit (and only one walk). He has been consistent  recently: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-3.
 In other batting news,  Zeb Engstrom was  incredible,  going 2-for-4 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  triple. The dominant performance gave  him a new career-high in  RBI.  Hunter Kincheloe was another key player,  scoring three  runs while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
 Covenant Day  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .600. That's the best  OBP they've posted all season.

The  win was  the fifth in a row for Covenant Day, bringing their record for this year to 7-1. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 4.2 runs across that stretch. As for Goose Creek, they dropped their record down to 2-1-2 with the  loss, which was their sixth straight  at home dating back to last season.
 Coming up, Covenant Day will face off against Oceanside Collegiate Academy at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Oceanside Collegiate Academy will roll in looking for their  eighth straight  victory, something Covenant Day surely won't give up without a fight. As for Goose Creek, they will host Lowcountry Leadership  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
