The Cardington-Lincoln Pirates's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Buckeye Central Bucks at 6:00 p.m. on February 8th.
On Tuesday, Cardington-Lincoln ended up a good deal behind Clear Fork and lost 54-38. Cardington-Lincoln has not had much luck with Clear Fork recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Abigail Hardwick, who scored nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Caulkins, who scored seven points.
Colonel Crawford typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Buckeye Central proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 52-45 win over the Eagles. The victory was all the more spectacular given Buckeye Central's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 474th, while Colonel Crawford is ranked 162nd).
Cardington-Lincoln has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-9 record this season. As for Buckeye Central, their victory bumped their record up to 6-12.
Cardington-Lincoln was able to grind out a solid win over Buckeye Central in their previous matchup back in February of 2020, winning 52-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cardington-Lincoln since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
