For the first time this season, Clinton will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Tuesday. They will challenge the Starkville Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. Clinton will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Clinton's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 15-0 margin over Raymond. That looming 15-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Arrows yet this season.

Caleb Waldo-Speth looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February of 2024.
At the plate, Clinton got a massive performance out of Chad Bates, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3. Bates also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Josef Walker was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.
Clinton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .577. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Raymond only posted an OBP of .100.
Meanwhile, Starkville was not the first on the board last Saturday, but they got there more often. They came out on top against Heritage Academy by a score of 9-6. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Yellowjackets.
The team relied heavily on Will Moody, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Zay Spencer, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.
Clinton's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.4 runs. As for Starkville, their record is now 5-2.
Tuesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Clinton has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .504. However, it's not like Starkville struggles in that department as they've averaged .444. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Clinton came up short against Starkville in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, falling 3-0. Can Clinton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
