Mater Dei found their leader in underclassman Brannon Martinsen, who scored 17 points along with four blocks. Martinsen is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last seven games he's played. Joe Keegan was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with six rebounds.
Mater Dei pushed their record up to 21-1 with that win, which was their 14th straight at home. As for Orange Lutheran, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-12.
Mater Dei won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Campbell Hall at 7:30 p.m. on January 20th. One thing working in Campbell Hall's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 12 contests. As for Orange Lutheran, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Santa Margarita at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Santa Margarita presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Orange Lutheran in California (Santa Margarita is ranked 34th, while Orange Lutheran is ranked 181st).
