The Seaside Spartans will be playing at home against the St. Francis Sharks at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Seaside pushed their score all the way to 61 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Pacific Grove 65-61. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (55), Seaside still had to take the loss.
Meanwhile, St. Francis' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 81-37 defeat at the hands of Pacific Grove. St. Francis was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-16.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Sam Braun, who scored 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Rose, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
St. Francis struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They are winless (0-4) when they just don't pass the ball.
Seaside has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season. As for St. Francis, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-19.
Seaside took their victory against the Sharks in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 67-47. Will Seaside repeat their success, or do the Sharks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
