The Mechanicville Red Raiders will face off against the Hoosic Valley Hawks at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
Mechanicville easily dispatched Cambridge on Monday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Red Raiders fell just short of Greenwich by a score of 4-2 on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Red Raiders couldn't push the score so high this time.

Mechanicville saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Pane, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. Pane is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, Hoosic Valley made sure to put some runs up on the board against Emma Willard on Thursday. The Hawks put the hurt on the Jesters with a sharp 24-6 win. Considering the Hawks have won five matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Lizzy Powers made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Powers was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, Hoosic Valley let Izzy Finkle and Lainey Bochette run wild. Finkle went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI, while Bochette got on base in three of her six plate appearances with five RBI, three runs, and one double. Those five RBI gave Bochette a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashleigh Herrington, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.
Hoosic Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Hoosic Valley's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Mechanicville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Mechanicville has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Hoosic Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Mechanicville's way against Hoosic Valley in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Mechanicville made off with a 15-2 win. Do the Red Raiders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
