The Sacred Heart Knights and the Beloit Trojans will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Sacred Heart sitting on nine straight wins and Beloit on ten.
Sacred Heart posted their biggest victory yet this season on January 5th. Everything went their way against Thomas More Prep-Marian as Sacred Heart made off with a 66-43 win. Given Sacred Heart's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 11th, while Thomas More Prep-Marian is ranked 220th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
In what's become a running theme this season, Beloit gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They put the hurt on Colby with a sharp 73-50 win.
Beloit's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bryce Beisner led the charge by scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Another player making a difference was Noah Gerstner, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Sacred Heart pushed their record up to 9-0 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Beloit, their win bumped their record up to 10-0.
Sacred Heart suffered a grim 58-38 defeat to Beloit in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Sacred Heart avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
