Even though the Brandon Eagles have not done well against the Jefferson Dragons recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Brandon secured a 34-30 W over the Dragons. This was payback for Brandon, who suffered a 58-35 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Brandon was led to victory by Sofia Caserta and Julia Castany. Caserta scored 13 points, while Castany scored 18 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Castany has scored at least a third of Brandon's points.
Brandon's win bumped their record up to 5-13. As for Jefferson, they are on a 18-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-18.
Brandon will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Hawks at 6:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Armwood presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Eagles in Florida (the Hawks are ranked 163rd, while the Eagles are ranked 537th). As for Jefferson, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Lions at 6:30 p.m. on January 31st. King is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
