After six games on the road, Midwest Central is heading back home. They will take on the Mt. Pulaski Hilltoppers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Tuesday, Midwest Central was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 57-52 to Delavan. Midwest Central has not had much luck with Delavan recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Meanwhile, Mt. Pulaski pushed their score all the way to 56 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were outmatched by Calvary at home and fell 89-56. While losing is never fun, Mt. Pulaski can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 582nd, while Calvary is ranked 222nd).
Midwest Central's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-23. As for Mt. Pulaski, their loss dropped their record down to 11-17.
Midwest Central strolled past Mt. Pulaski when the teams last played back in January of 2023 by a score of 70-55. Will Midwest Central repeat their success, or does Mt. Pulaski have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
