Langtree Charter Academy hasn't had much luck against Queen's Grant recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Langtree Charter Academy Lions will be playing at home against the Queen's Grant Stallions at 4:00 p.m. Langtree Charter Academy has given up an average of 17.6 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
Langtree Charter Academy is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game dating back to last season last Tuesday. They came up short against Hickory Grove Christian, falling 18-8.

Reese Horton and Addison Longino stepped up to the plate in a big way. Horton scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances, while Longino scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3. Horton has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.
Meanwhile, Queen's Grant put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy 13-1. The Stallions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by seven runs or more this season.
Addi Benton made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Benton was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
In other batting news, Alyssa Steele was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. Abby Sanders was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Queen's Grant always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy only posted an OBP of .300.
Queen's Grant's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Langtree Charter Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Langtree Charter Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Queen's Grant struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Langtree Charter Academy might still be hurting after the 18-3 defeat they got from Queen's Grant when the teams last played back in February.
