The Loachapoka Indians proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 32) but on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged Notasulga out 48-46. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Loachapoka has posted yet this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Loachapoka to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mitchell Chenier jr, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Chenier jr continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Zay Shaw was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds.
The victory was the third in a row for Loachapoka, bringing their record for this year to 5-11. As for Notasulga, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.
Loachapoka and Billingsley will face off at 2:00 p.m. on January 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Billingsley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday. As for Notasulga, they will head out on the road to face off against Verbena at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
