The Olympic Heights Lions pushed their score all the way to 61 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Cardinal Newman by a score of 64-61. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Tuesday (55), Olympic Heights still had to take the loss.
Olympic Heights' lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Harrison Cohen, who scored 19 points along with 6 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Devon Brenner, who scored 18 points along with 5 rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Olympic Heights and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for Cardinal Newman, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Olympic Heights won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against West Boca Raton at 7:30 p.m. on December 8th. West Boca Raton is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Cardinal Newman, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Boynton Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Boynton Beach will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 584th, while Cardinal Newman is ranked 122nd).
