The Tuslaw Mustangs will head out on the road to challenge the Columbiana Clippers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Tuslaw's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
Tuslaw's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Beachwood. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won 11 games by six runs or more so far this season.
Gabby McGowen tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over five innings pitched. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April.

On the hitting side, Hadley Porter and Kaydence Chapman did most of the damage at the plate: Porter went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Chapman went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Chapman is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Shaylyn Fox, who went 1-for-2 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Tuslaw was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in 12 consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Columbiana fell victim to Maplewood and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rockets. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Clippers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Columbiana's defeat dropped their record down to 20-7. As for Tuslaw, their record is now 15-10.
Tuslaw's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's matchup. The Mustangs have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Columbiana, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Tuslaw continue to outrun the ball?
