Basketball Recap: Southeast Extends Winning Streak to Five

Southeast put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 39-37 win over the South Bison.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Southeast to victory, but perhaps none more so than TJ Moats, who went 6 for 14 on his way to 15 points in addition to eight rebounds and four blocks. Moats is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ayden Desmond, who posted seven points and six boards.

When it comes to explaining why South lost, don't look at Dezmond Waters. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards. Preston Decker was another key player, putting up ten points.

Southeast's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for South, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Southeast wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 54-46 defeat against Burns on the 14th. South will take on Grand Valley in a holiday battle at at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. South is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.8 points per game this season.
