West Fork has gone 7-2 against Green Forest recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last three times West Fork and Huntsville have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. West Fork came out on top against Huntsville by a score of 20-15.
Clara Harderson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). Harderson was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 1-for-5.
In other batting news, Leah Swinson was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Kinley Smith, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.
West Fork hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Huntsville struck out 11 times.
Meanwhile, Green Forest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 25-14 to Greenland. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (11), the Tigers still had to take the loss.
Tay'Sha Leudke was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Natalie Asbury was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
The victory got West Fork back to even at 1-1. As for Green Forest, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
