Baseball Recap: Melrose Has No Trouble Against Floyd

Melrose won the last time they faced Floyd and things went their way on Thursday too. The Buffaloes put the hurt on the Broncos with a sharp 27-8 win. The Buffaloes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by nine runs or more this season.

Melrose got a massive performance out of Jaxon Odom, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits Odom has posted since back in April. Trevin Yeary was another key player, going 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Melrose was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .641. They are 9-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Melrose now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Floyd, they are on a 24-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Melrose beat the Broncos by a score of 28-1 later that day.
