Broughton was handed a heart-breaking two-point  loss in their last  matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Green Level  on Thursday. The Capitals simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Gators 43-14. The  game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached  28-7.
 Xavier Howard had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 114 yards and a pair of  TDs on only nine carries, and also picked up 58 receiving yards and one  touchdown.incredibly,  Howard got all that yardage with just one huge  grab Another player making a difference was  Barack Okeyo, who rushed for 69 yards and one  score on only five carries.
 They were just one part of a punishing run game: Broughton was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 323  rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Green Level only  rushed for 125  rushing yards.
 Broughton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over.  Rives Smith picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. He got in on the action too, converting a pick  into a touchdown.
 Green Level lost  despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was   Aaron Sadler, who rushed for 60 yards and one  touchdown on only six carries.
The  victory  got Broughton back to even at 1-1. As for Green Level, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Broughton will challenge Sanderson at 7:00  p.m.  on  the 5th. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 943 yards in their previous games. As for Green Level, they will venture away from home to  square off against Enloe  at 7:00  p.m.  on  the 5th.
