Baseball Recap: Florence's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Florence came into Friday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 16-14 win over the Connally Cadets on Friday. With that victory, the Buffaloes brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Terry Parker was a standout: he scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-5. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Weston Underwood, who scored two runs and stole Five bases. while going 3-for-4.

Florence was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Florence now has a winning record of 7-6-1. As for Connally, they dropped their record down to 4-7 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Florence will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Comfort at 7:00 p.m. on March 24th. As for Connally, they will head out to take on University at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Connally will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
