Wheeler had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Haddam-Killingworth Cougars. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lions have posted since May 3rd.

Wheeler's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Noah Klewin, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Wheeler hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive contests.

Wheeler pushed their record up to 12-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Haddam-Killingworth, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season.
