Basketball Game Preview: Crossroads Christian Colts vs. The Burlington School Spartans

Crossroads Christian is 0-5 against The Burlington School since February of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 5:30 p.m. Crossroads Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.7 points per game this season.

Crossroads Christian took a loss when they played away from home back in December of 2024, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed back in December of 2024. They blew past Bradford Academy 65-17. The Colts have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 36 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Elyssa Phillips, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 13 steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Leanna Wimsatt, who posted 11 points and eight steals.

Meanwhile, The Burlington School came up short against Butler two weeks ago, falling 46-24. The matchup marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Crossroads Christian pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.2 points per game. As for The Burlington School, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Crossroads Christian took a serious blow against The Burlington School in their previous meeting back in January of 2020, falling 70-5. Can Crossroads Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
