The Marquette Crusaders pushed their score all the way to 59 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 68-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Yorkville Christian. Marquette has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Leading Yorkville Christian to victory were Payton Wallin and Danielle Bulson. Wallin almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine rebounds, while Bulson dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Bulson has scored at least a third of Yorkville Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Grace Allgood, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Marquette's defeat dropped their record down to 17-10. As for Yorkville Christian, their win bumped their record up to 11-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marquette will take on the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Yorkville Christian, they will head out on the road to challenge the Huskers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
