The Frontier Regional Red Hawks will challenge the Taconic Thunder at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Frontier Regional is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
Frontier Regional will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating Mount Greylock Regional, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Red Hawks put the hurt on the Mounties with a sharp 12-5 win on Friday. The Red Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by seven runs or more this season.
Raine Wonsey made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Addie Ehle was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Delaney 'Lu' Fifield, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Frontier Regional hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mount Greylock Regional struck out seven times.
Meanwhile, Taconic might've scored the first runs on Monday, but it was Mount Anthony who claimed the real prize. The Thunder fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 4-3. The Thunder have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.
Cheyann Goddard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, Taconic saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kylie Duhamel, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Frontier Regional's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.4 runs over those games. As for Taconic, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
Both Frontier Regional and Taconic just can't seem to miss. The Red Hawks have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11 hits per game. However, it's not like Taconic struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.7 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Frontier Regional was able to grind out a solid victory over Taconic in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 13-9. Will the Red Hawks repeat their success, or do the Thunder have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
