If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Bettendorf. They will challenge Davenport West on the road at 7:30 PM on Friday. Bettendorf have bulldozed their previous three opponents, so Davenport West might have their hands full.
Last Friday, Bettendorf put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season. They took their match against Kennedy by a conclusive 41-14 score. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Bettendorf had established a 41-6 advantage.
Meanwhile, their game two weeks ago wasn't at all kind to Davenport West, but their most recent game may have softened the blow. They won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Burlington 28-27. The win was a breath of fresh air for Davenport West as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.
Their wins bumped Bettendorf to 6-1 and Davenport West to 2-5. Bettendorf have been dynamite on the offensive side of the ball, averaging 31.86 points per game. We'll see if Davenport West can find some way to disarm them.
