It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Statesboro Blue Devils had no problem doing just that on Friday. Everything went their way against Tucker as Statesboro made off with a 49-28 victory. Statesboro pushed the score to 42-20 by the end of the third, a deficit Tucker cut but never quite recovered from.
Despite the defeat, Tucker had strong showings from Jordan Mccoy, who rushed for 143 yards and a touchdown, and Jamar Graham, who threw for 71 yards and a touchdown. Mccoy was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 51 yards. Dallas Kelly made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
The win makes it two in a row for Statesboro and bumps their season record up to 4-7. As for Tucker, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.
Statesboro will head out on the road to face off against Harris County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Harris County will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak alive. Tucker does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
