The Patapsco Patriots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their seventh straight defeat. They were dealt a 66-33 loss at the hands of Kenwood. Patapsco was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Kenwood apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Despite the loss, Patapsco still got an impressive performance from Kayla Gross, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Gross is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ania Evans, who scored eight points along with three steals.
It was another big night for Diamond Watters, who scored 27 points along with six rebounds and three steals for Kenwood. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Watters has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayanna Alark, who scored 14 points.
Patapsco has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season. As for Kenwood, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Patapsco will head out on the road to take on Western Tech & Environmental Science at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Patapsco is coming into the contest with three straight losses on the road, meaning Western Tech & Environmental Science will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. As for Kenwood, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Franklin at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Kenwood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Monday.
