Plainfield had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-23, 25-22, 25-22.
Meanwhile, Westfield was able to grind out a solid win over Tri-West Hendricks on Thursday, taking the game 3-1.
The victory didn't come easy: Tri-West Hendricks scored at least 22 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-23, 23-25, 25-22.
Plainfield better focus on containing Kendyl Strack and Kenna Robinson as the pair were huge in Westfield's win. Strack had 17 digs and ten aces, while Robinson had 18 assists and five digs. Those ten aces gave Strack a new career-high.
Westfield was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 13 consecutive contests.
Plainfield's win bumped their record up to 22-4. As for Westfield, their victory bumped their record up to 20-1.
