The Niwot Cougars suffered their biggest defeat since December 5, 2023 on Monday. They had to suffer through a rough 67-30 loss at the hands of Mountain View. Niwot has not had much luck with Mountain View recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite the loss, Niwot saw an underclassman step up: Ella Zechman scored four points along with two steals.
Niwot bumped their record down to 3-10 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.5 points per game. As for Mountain View, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-4.
Niwot will be playing at home against Roosevelt at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Roosevelt's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 12 matches. Mountain View won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Frederick at 5:30 p.m. on January 23rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Frederick is ranked 44th, while Mountain View is ranked 65th).
