The Conneaut Area Eagles will challenge the Corry Beavers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with six losses in a row, Conneaut Area turned things around against North East on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Grape Pickers by a score of 4-1.

Thaddeus Bland made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He is becoming a predictor of Conneaut Area's success: when he allows at most one hit the team is 4-2 (and 1-6 when he doesn't). Bland was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chase Stewart, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Corry, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They never let Northwestern get on the board and left with an 8-0 win on Tuesday.
The result came thanks to Wyatt Swan's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up 12 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Tucker Jackson was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That double was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kamdyn Moon, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Conneaut Area's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Corry, their win bumped their record up to 7-10.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Conneaut Area has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Corry struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Conneaut Area came up short against Corry when the teams last played back in April, falling 6-1. Will the Eagles have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
