Baseball Recap: Canton Starts Season with Victory Against Knoxville

Canton gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They blew past the Knoxville Blue Bullets 12-1. The Little Giants haven't had any issues with the Blue Bullets recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Easton Lusk looked comfortable as he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Colin Johnson was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Kash Van Houten was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

This is the second loss in a row for Knoxville and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Canton will square off against ROWVA/Williamsfield at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Knoxville, they are taking a road trip to challenge Rockridge at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
