The Peoria Panthers had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.3 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 43-15 victory over Agua Fria at home. Peoria has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 25 points or more this season.
Peoria was led to victory by Harmony Re and Michelle Kogbara. Re scored ten points along with two steals, while Kogbara dropped a double-double on 14 points and 19 rebounds. Re hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games.
Peoria's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-5. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28 points. As for Agua Fria, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Peoria the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Estrella Foothills at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th. Estrella Foothills knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Peoria likes a good challenge. As for Agua Fria, they will be playing at home against Cactus at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cactus comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last seven games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
