Bowie is 8-2 against Austin since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will host the Maroons at 7:00 p.m. Bowie is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.
Bowie gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Akins by a score of 14-9. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Bowie got a great performance from Micah Villa as she struck out ten batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Those ten strikeouts gave Villa a new career-high.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cadie Hays, who fired off four doubles, two runs, and two RBI while going 4-for-5. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Valeria Feeney, who went 2-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
Bowie kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are 10-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Austin fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Westlake last Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Chaparrals by a score of 8-7. The Maroons just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.
Carolina Castilleja and Xiomora Figueroa stepped up to the plate in a big way. Castilleja went 2-for-4 with one home run and one double, while Figueroa scored a run while going 2-for-4. Figueroa also brought in three RBI, marking her first of the season. Isabella Alvarez was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run.
Bowie's victory bumped their record up to 15-7. As for Austin, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.
Bowie took their win against Austin in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 19-2 score. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Maroons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
