The Franklin Academy Huskies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 26 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 66-40 margin over Potsdam. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Franklin Academy.
Franklin Academy's win on Monday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cameron Keating, who scored 13 points. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Ian Mulverhill, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Potsdam's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ian VanWagner, who scored 15 points. VanWagner scored a full 37.5% of Potsdam's points, the 11th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Theo Hughes, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds.
Franklin Academy's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Potsdam, they bumped their record down to 7-4 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Franklin Academy will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Salmon River at 7:15 p.m. Salmon River comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Potsdam's road trip will continue as they head out to face Massena at 7:15 p.m. on January 11th.
