Community School of Davidson extended their losing streak  to three  on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 9-6 in the process. They came up short against  the Pine Lake Prep Pride, falling  11-1. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pride apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in April of 2024.
As for Pine Lake Prep, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record  this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.9 runs.
For Pine Lake Prep's part,  Trey Schubert made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he  tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off   seven  hits. What's more,  Schubert posted five  strikeouts, the most he's  had since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-3 with two  RBI and one  run.
 In other batting news,  Dylan Brandt was  incredible,  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances with one  home run, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI. He is  on a roll when it comes to  home runs, as he's  now  launched  at least one in each of the last three games he's  played. Another player making a difference was  Will Heller, who  went 1-for-2 with two  runs and two  RBI.
While Community School of Davidson had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday.
