Waterford-Halfmoon has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Tamarac Bengals at 8:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 92-42, which was the final score in Waterford-Halfmoon's tilt against Hoosick Falls on Tuesday. Waterford-Halfmoon has struggled against Hoosick Falls recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Tamarac's 20-4 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They suffered a rough 70-47 defeat at the hands of Stillwater on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Tamarac can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while Stillwater is ranked third).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jacob Price, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds and five blocks. Price is absolutely dominating the block category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamerin Edmonds, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Waterford-Halfmoon's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-5. As for Tamarac, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-2.
Waterford-Halfmoon was dealt a bruising 88-47 loss at the hands of Tamarac when the teams last played back in January. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Waterford-Halfmoon was down 44-18.
