DRAPER, Utah -
Timpanogos (Orem, Utah) came into Saturday's contest ranked No. 20 in Utah, but was stunned by
Corner Canyon (Draper, Utah), 35-7. Corner Canyon was ranked at No. 53 in the MaxPreps Freeman Rankings for Utah coming into the week.
After taking the lead on a passing touchdown in the first quarter, the Chargers led 21-0 at the half.
Each side put up seven points during the third quarter, and the fourth quarter began with the margin still at 21.
Timpanogos' lone touchdown came on a 7-yard run by
Jackson Dunford in the third quarter.
Coming into the game Corner Canyon had allowed 20.6 points per game this year. A defensively strong CC kept the Timberwolves well below the 29.0 points it had been averaging per game.
The loss comes after Timpanogos defeated Hillcrest 36-0 last week. The loss broke Timpanogos' two-game winning streak. With the win the Draper school extended its winning streak to three games.
In a 4A Region 7 game next week Corner Canyon (3-3) takes on Skyline, and Timpanogos (4-2) will go up against Olympus also in a 4A Region 7 game.
