While losing is never fun, Erie First Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 597th, while Mercyhurst Prep is ranked 265th).
Despite the defeat, Erie First Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Avery Collins scored 22 points along with six rebounds. Simon Gonzalez was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds.
Fairview has not been sharp recently as the team has lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Erie First Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-14.
Everything went Fairview's way against Erie First Christian Academy when the teams last played back in January as Fairview made off with a 63-42 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Collins, who scored 25 points. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Fairview still be able to contain Collins?
