Hamilton is 1-7 against Bethany Christian since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Hamilton Marines on the road again and play against the Bethany Christian Bruins at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Hamilton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 403rd, while Bethany Christian is ranked 192nd).
Hamilton suffered their biggest defeat since December 14, 2023 on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 46-7 loss at the hands of South Bend Clay. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Hamilton has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Bethany Christian had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They enjoyed a cozy 38-19 victory over Trinity on Friday.
Zoe Willems continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Leyna Borgmann, who scored seven points.
Hamilton's loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-12. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 20.1 points per game. As for Bethany Christian, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 16-7.
Hamilton might still be hurting after the 51-27 defeat they got from Bethany Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Willems, who dropped a triple-double on 25 points, 13 rebounds, and ten steals. Now that Hamilton knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
