Basketball Recap: Patrick Henry's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Patrick Henry waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 61-42 victory over the Steele Canyon Cougars. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Patriots also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2023.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Patrick Henry to victory, but perhaps none more so than Deshawn Jones Jr., who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 boards. Those 13 rebounds gave Jones Jr. a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Damien Carmichael, who posted 13 points and six rebounds.

Patrick Henry smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in three consecutive games.

Patrick Henry's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-7. As for Steele Canyon, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.

Patrick Henry will take on Granite Hills in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Patrick Henry is facing Granite Hills at the right time seeing as Granite Hills is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Steele Canyon and Del Lago Academy will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
