Greenwood came tearing into Tuesday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 49-47 win over the Holmes County Central Jaguars. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Bulldogs' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 118th, while the Jaguars are ranked 32nd).

Greenwood is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Holmes County Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greenwood will host Greenville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Greenville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.9 points per game this season. As for Holmes County Central, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Holmes County Central Jaguars face off against the Canton Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on December 17th.
