It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Lake Creek Lions ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They walked away with a 76-67 win over Vandegrift. The victory was familiar territory for Lake Creek who now have four in a row.
Lake Creek was led to victory by Jett Sutton and Ramsey Guessagba-Sato. Sutton scored 20 points along with four steals, while Guessagba-Sato scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for him. Thomas Bell was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten rebounds and ten assists.
Lake Creek has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Vandegrift, their loss dropped their record down to 13-5.
Lake Creek is on the road again on Friday and play against Ellison at 10:30 a.m. on December 29th. Ellison presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lake Creek in Texas (Ellison is ranked 43rd, while Lake Creek is ranked 230th). Vandegrift won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Ray at 12:00 p.m. on December 29th.
