Zanesville hasn't had much luck against Watkins Memorial recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Blue Devils will host the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. Zanesville will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Zanesville took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They put the hurt on Licking Heights with a sharp 10-2 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Blue Devils as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Maddox Mohler made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Zanesville is 4-1-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-8 otherwise. Mohler was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.
In other batting news, Zanesville got a big performance out of Solomon Norris, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI and one run. That's the most RBI Norris has posted since back in May of 2024. Noah Darnes was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Zanesville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Watkins Memorial suffered their closest loss since March 28th on Monday. They fell just short of Mt. Vernon by a score of 5-3. The Warriors' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Watkins Memorial saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Vincent, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.
Zanesville's win bumped their record up to 7-9-1. As for Watkins Memorial, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
Zanesville was able to grind out a solid victory over Watkins Memorial when the teams last played on April 7th, winning 7-4. Do the Blue Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
