It was a good run, but the Tampa Prep Terrapins unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 63-55 to Academy of the Holy Names. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Tampa Prep lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kimora Green, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Treniti Fluker, who scored 14 points.
Academy of the Holy Names had a senior duo take command as Lucy Morey scored 17 points along with six assists and five steals and Morgan Hunt scored 15 points along with nine rebounds. Morey is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Sam Castro was another key contributor, scoring five points along with three steals.
Tampa Prep's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Academy of the Holy Names, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-3.
Tampa Prep will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Seacrest Country Day at 5:00 p.m. on December 27th. Seacrest Country Day is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games. Academy of the Holy Names and Karns will round out the year against one another at 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday at. Karns has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
