The Onaway Cardinals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 34 points or more this season. They took their contest on the road on Monday with ease, bagging a 71-34 win over Rogers City. Onaway's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Onaway's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jadin Mix, who scored 20 points. The contest was Mix's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Austin Veal was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Onaway pushed their record up to 5-0 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 45 points. As for Rogers City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Onaway will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on St. Mary Cathedral at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. As for Rogers City, they will head out on the road to face off against Inland Lakes at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Inland Lakes focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Thursday.
