Independence has been on a difficult stretch since their win on December 13. Neither they nor the Tehachapi Warriors could gain the upper hand on Thursday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Falcons as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

With that draw, Independence's record moves to 3-6-1. Meanwhile, Tehachapi's record is now 1-7-3.

Independence will take on Stockdale in a tournament on Friday. Independence's last four matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Tehachapi, they will be taking part in a tournament against California City at 1:50 p.m. on Friday. Tehachapi's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for nine straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
