It was a good run, but the Kokomo Wildkats unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of McCutcheon by a score of 36-33. While losing is never fun, Kokomo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 155th, while the Mavericks are ranked 46th).
Despite the loss, Kokomo still got an impressive performance from Aijia Elliott, who scored 18 points along with three blocks. Elliott has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last four times she's played. Amara Stroman was another key contributor, scoring four points along with six steals.
McCutcheon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lillie Graves, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Miller, who scored five points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Kokomo's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-10. As for McCutcheon, their victory bumped their record up to 20-4.
Kokomo does not have any more games scheduled as of now. McCutcheon won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Harrison is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
