It was a good run, but the Stockton Tigers unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Thursday. The New Year welcomed they with a 49-12 whooping from Norton. Stockton has not had much luck with Norton recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Jenessa Ruder was her usual excellent self, scoring 17 points along with seven rebounds and six steals for Norton. The game was Ruder's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mackenzie Clydesdale, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Stockton's defeat dropped their record down to 7-1. As for Norton, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stockton will take on Victoria at TBD on Tuesday. Victoria will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 239th, while Stockton is ranked 104th). As for Norton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Oakley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
