The Ninety Six Wildcats typically have all the answers at home, but on Friday the Keenan Raiders proved too difficult a challenge. Keenan sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 24-21 win over Ninety Six. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Keenan also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2014.
Keenan's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Desmond Washington, who threw for 196 yards and two touchdowns on only 17 passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Keenan also got a significant boost from Evan Artemus, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 82 yards.
Keenan is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season. As for Ninety Six, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-3.
Keenan will head out on the road to face off against Strom Thurmond at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Strom Thurmond is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games. Ninety Six does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
