Football Recap: North Clayton Gets the Win

North Clayton took a 24-point loss the last time they faced off against Stephenson, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, the Eagles made off with a 42-41 victory over the Jaguars. The Eagles' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Stephenson lost on Friday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jayden Johnson, who rushed for 147 yards and three scores on only 13 carries. Johnson is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 112 every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Zabrian Boler, who threw for 278 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 76.2% of his passes.

The win (which was North Clayton's third in a row) raised their record to 5-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.0 points over those games. As for Stephenson, their defeat was their first of the season and also makes their record 5-1.
